Azealia Banks Tour
Verse 2: Azealia Banks Her motives is frozen Giving chill pill to them polars Corrosive, the coldest, city is a tundra Stay focused, No wonder, - Frigid princess come from.
Born in 1991, (the same year as Angel Haze… already this doesn’t bode well), in Harlem, NY, (aka a “real” New Yorker), Azealia Banks, her luscious lipgloss and her fly Mickey Mouse sweatshirt, swept the nation when her hit video “212 ft. Lazy Jay“ came out in December 2011. Since then, she’s released a mixtape, Fantasea, which came out in July 2012 and is working on a studio album, Broke with Expensive Taste, which (after being pushed back, what album isn’t?) is slated to be released on February 12th.

None of her other videos are close to the 42 MILLION views “212 ft. Lazy Jay” has, and since her breakthrough she’s definitely been glammed up (like almost Beyoncé status glammed up). This might not be solely the doing of the music industry, as Banks has cited Beyoncé and Aaliyah as two female artists she is inspired by. Azealia has been playing festivals across the United States and Europe, she’ll be across the pond in the spring, but will be back in NY for The Governors Ball Music Festival, where she’ll join Kanye, Nas and Kendrick Lamar. Dopeness.

Azealia Banks vs Angel Haze
Earlier in January, Banks tweeted, “Seriously, if you were not born and raised in NY… DON’T CLAIM NY. YOU ARE NOT A NEW YORKER.” Whether or not this was a reference to Angel Haze’s track “New York,” where she raps, “We run New York,” is still unclear. The whole thing got pretty heated (you can see the gory details here), as things strangely tend to do on Twitter and ended in Haze making a hate track (so ’90s) and then apologizing (so 2013). Azealia took the high road (or maybe she was just busy) and did not make a response hate track. Since then, Haze has apologized for “bullying” and deleted her tweets, but not her track so you can listen to Haze here and also admire the photoshop she did on Azealia. Apparently, the textversation posted on Azealia’s face was between her and Haze. The joys of arguing in the 21st century – there are so many different mediums you can use.
